AC_125_0423_000175 issued on April 13, 2023.

In relation to the implementation of VAT, we would like to advise that offsetting of overpayment for DEM/DET will no longer be allowed.
Overpayments may be refunded through this link (e-Overpayment Request Form).
The new guideline will commence effective immediately.

Please be informed that starting December 01, 2022, all customers requesting for refund of Overpayment / Wrong deposits made / double payment and the like are requested to use the newly created e-Overpayment Refund Request portal.

In relation to the advisory on application of 12% VAT on Detention and Demurrage (D&D) released last September 29, 2022, for week effective November 01, 2022.

We are encouraging your good office to segregate payments for Vatable charges (D&D) from the non-Vatable charges (Freight and other local charges) for proper issuance of official receipts.

Please be informed that we would be issuing a separate vat registered official receipts for D&D collections with VAT for invoices issued starting November 1, 2022.

Further to our advisory dated June 30, 2022, please be advised that effective October 17, 2022, our

related concerns excluding requests for BL Draft and Export BL Amendments.

Please be advised that Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (AGENT: Ocean Network Express
Philippines, Inc.) will be adding 12% VAT on your demurrage & detention (D&D) charges in
compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s requirement on locally sourced income (RR
15-2013) effective November 01, 2022.

Effective August 15, 2022, New Import Charge Code Late Payment Fee (LPM) will replace the current import charge code LCB (Late Collection of BL).

Effective 15th July 2022, our Customer Service group email address will change to a single address where you can send all your Customer Service-related inquiries.
In view of this, the group email addresses of our Customer Service team as well as their individual emails which they are currently using will be discontinued.

e-Official Receipt Advisory

Please be informed that we have two new additional bank accounts designated for freight, other local charges, and container deposit payments. We also encourage you to pay your charges via fund transfer or online banking.

NOTE: BPI will no longer be accepting Container deposits.
